This verse tells us how vital and relevant a woman is to man and the world at large and how God is so interested in a man finding a wife.

We are to place much value on women for the position of being a helper to the man. According to Genesis 2:18, “The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone, and I will make a helper suitable for him.” there is a blessing that is attached when a man finds a woman.

Before help is rendered, there’s an amount of strength on the inside. Women aren’t meant to be underrated; when God created man and saw it wasn’t good for man to be alone, He created the woman (Eve) to be a helper to him and his consoler in times of trials.

1 Peter 3:3-4

“Do not let your adorning be external — the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear — but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.”

Here Peter instructed and warned women, especially wives, that in other for their value to be evaluated, they are not meant to use artificial things to make themselves beautiful.

In this passage, this is where we also see the importance and the need to value a woman. Adam gives a simple illustration of why he named his wife eve.

Being a mother of all living things shows that it is not until this moment that the woman created from Adam’s rib receives her name.

Why Scripture chooses this particular moment to mention her name is not entirely clear, but this tells us that out of eve birth out living things.

Nothing in this world can be compared or equal to what a woman has to offer; we are so relevant that Adam called them a source of living.

This can be general; women seen as the source of living are embedded with the fear of God, which makes them abstain from several worldly activities. So as women who want to be valued, we must make ourselves worthy of it by focusing on God.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

As believers, we should know that we live in a troublesome world that demands strength. But we cannot always give ourselves the power we need; that’s why we, believers, need to look up to God for strength.

We don’t always need to be afraid of the storms or what comes our way. We need to realize who we are in God and know that whatever we face in life, God will always give us the strength to overcome it.

Joshua 1:5

“No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Even though we are Christians, Sometimes we find ourselves in a difficult situation, but it is no fault of our own. In times like that, when our faith is tested, we must decide to remain faithful and true to God. He will never leave us, and we can always count on him.

We, as believers, are not exempted from being tested with difficult times. Hard times may always surface in our life, but that is no indication that God is not with us in our time of need. God may use our situation for his Glory, and we will be blessed.

1 Peter 3:3-4

Your beauty should not come from outward adornments, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.  Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”

1 Peter 3:3-4 (NIV)

As believers, for us to maintain our value, we must not aim at worldly desires. Instead, we are encouraged to function in our inner self, which speaks more of our heart and the beauty which fades with age.

As a godly believer, our beauty shouldn’t be seen as what we put on our physical body or the hair we make. Our worth shouldn’t be counted in our physical appearance, but we are expected to walk with our inner beauty that doesn’t fade.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.”
