As women navigate through their daily hurdles, my personal experiences as a woman prove there is a dire need for words of encouragement for women from the Bible, to keep them going as they push every day to become better women, wives, mothers and sisters.
Every woman needs to be encouraged by the promises of God as she lives a purposeful life for the general good of her family, society, church and community.
Words of Encouragement for Women from the Bible
The Bible is a spiritual book for Christians, it contains enormous verses to encourage women of all ages irrespective of any situation they might find themselves in.
Let me put it this way, do you know that the Bible contains information on almost all of life’s conditions and situations? There are Bible verses that suites every situation in your life as a woman, I will be discussing some Bible verses to declare over every life difficulties you encounter.
Are you willing and yearning to live a life wrapped with encouragement from the scriptures? Irrespective of what life throws at you, I want you to know and live by this; be a purposeful woman, be God’s standard of beauty, wait in God and live life to inspire others.
1. Be God’s Standard of Beauty
Peter 3:3-4
“Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes”.
“You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God”.
You are uniquely and wonderfully made according to Psalm 139. When you read through Psalm 139, you will discover words of encouragement about true beauty you can only find in God.
Expectedly, as a woman, you are probably conscious when it comes to maintaining your physical appearance. You may have some time to spend, time, money, and energy to reach the standards set by this world.
These standards when adhered to often lead to losing self-confidence, feeling insecure, or even doubting your self-worth. Yet, God has created you in His image and likeness.
I want to remain your clothes nor physical appearances don’t make you, but the innermost beauty you exude from practising the word of God, according to Proverbs 31:30: “Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last, but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised”
2. God Sees Intentions not Actions
Colossians 2:10
“So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority”.
As a woman, the world may judge you for your appearance, yet God is the one who can judge you accurately based on the intentions of your heart. God sees through you because he looks at the intentions of your heart. Remember, true beauty is amplified from the inside.
Hence, we should ask ourselves, “Am I living a life pleasing to God?” Rather than focusing on outward appearance, women must develop the inner beauty and spirit of godliness.
Living life as a testimony of God’s unfailing love is beauty others must see from us. But, we can take care of our outward appearance to look presentable
3. Wait Patiently on God
Proverbs 31:25
“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future”.
Psalm 143:8
“Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you”.
Luke 1:45
“You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said”.
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and hope”.
The above talk about some words of encouragement for women about God’s plan.
Knowing that a higher being is in charge of your life gives you the confidence to continue moving forward. There are times when things go way beyond your control. While you’re working and waiting, surrender all your worries and burdens to God.
Use the word of God as an encouragement for your daily living.
It is He who is in control of everything. To motivate and encourage you to trust his plans, here are some words of encouragement for women about God’s plan.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Know that whatever you ask God, He will grant it in His perfect time.
4. Live to Inspire Others
Proverbs 31:16-17
“She goes to inspect a field and buys it; with her earnings, she plants a vineyard. She is energetic and strong, a hard worker”.
Proverbs 31:20-21
“She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy. She has no fear of winter in her household, for everyone has warm clothes”.
Esther 4:14
“If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”
1 Timothy 3:11
“In the same way, their wives must be respected and must not slander others. They must exercise self-control and be faithful in everything they do”.
2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity but of power, love, and self-discipline”.
What do you think other people think and say about you? Does your presence bring joy to the people around you? The world might let you think that you’re living a purposeless life.
Yet God created you with a great purpose to advance his kingdom and reach out to more people, so be courageous and inspire others with your good works.
Do you know as you live to honor and glorify God, it can become an inspiration and a blessing to other people around you? Yes. That is how it’s meant to be. Live with this consciousness as a woman.
So, are you living a life that encourages another woman to remain steadfast in God? Based on my findings, I have listed four top words of encouragement for women in the Bible.
You are capable of doing great things and should never listen to those who persecute and look down upon you for God has already made you qualified to face all difficulties in life.
Hence, don’t let others extinguish the fire in you. Instead, continue to shine amidst darkness so others can see God in you.
As an effective Christian, you must have power, love, and self-discipline. Above all, do everything with love. Because without love, you would be only prideful noisemakers.
They faced so many challenges from being married out to an unknown elderly man and family to denial of educational opportunities.
Moreover, the Bible contained information that was handy to put women in order and enable them to come out of their shackles.
The Biblical account of a woman started from the book of Genesis. The importance of a woman to a man. A woman was created out of a man’s ribs to be a companionable companion to a man.
Final Thought
A man from creation could not have single-handedly controlled or put everything in place, so God created a woman for him.
You see, a woman is important although some societies only think of nothing but inflicting pain on women. They lived together in the Garden of Eden until a serpent deceived a woman and the man was deceived as well.
Meanwhile, there are circumstances where you might feel you’re not valuable enough. Whether it’s in your workplace, school, society, or even in your family, society shouldn’t define your worth.
In God, you are more precious than any expensive stones here on earth. And the Bible gives affirmations and promises to women of faith. Here are some words of encouragement for women to remind themselves of God’s overwhelming love for you and every woman in this world.
